RST Spreading Operator

Essity is a leading global hygiene and health company which develops, produces and sells Health & Medical, Consumer Tissue and Professional Hygiene products and solutions and has a strong global presence.
In the production plant based in Pinetown, South Africa, we are looking for a suitably experienced and qualified RST Spreading Operator to join the high-performance team reporting directly to the Team Leader.

About the Role

The successful candidate will be responsible for the smooth running of the spreading tunnel. The operator is also responsible for ensuring that company safety standards and quality requirements are maintained in the designated RST Spreading production area.

What You Will Do

• Operate, slit, and spool as required in the spreading process and as per work instruction.
• Monitor the Spreading tunnel and make minor operational adjustments when required.
• Perform quality checks ensuring that the product meets the required quality standards.
• Complete the daily worksheet and record all cloth / bandage being spooled (substrate) that has been used by the end of every shift.
• Ensure good housekeeping and GMP conditions are maintained within the RST tunnel department.
• Ensure that the hourly targets set are met and record any waste during the shift
• Perform regular checks of the Recovery plant and record readings.
• Maintain machine safety and efficiency ensuring that machine safety interlocks are always operational.
• Communicate effectively and report any issues to the Team Leader.
• Adhere to the Health & Safety standards and Hygiene SOP for entering, exiting and operating in the department.
  

Who You Are

• Must have minimum Matric qualification with Mathematics will be an advantage
• Must have at least 3-5 years manufacturing experience
• Must have functional knowledge and understanding of Spreading production process
• Must have good communication ie. Speak, read and write
